Foot Orthotics

Foot Orthotics, Insoles, Shoe inserts, Total contact insoles, CadCam insoles, Accommodative foot orthoses are just a number of names used for foot devices that fit inside patients footwear.

Using traditional skills mixed with Cad-Cam technology, T&S orthotics offers a wide range of foot orthotics to meet your patients clinical needs; using quality materials to manufacture high quality devices that fit into your or your patients footwear. 

A functional foot orthotic or FFO is a device that fits into your or your patients footwear that improves foot function while standing, walking or running; these may be manufactured using a flexible, semi fleible, rigid thermoplasic or of a composite material (carbon fibre, perlon). They will be relativly thin and easy to fit in most ladies and mens footwear.

Total Contact Insole or Accommodative foot orthoses are used to relieve pressure from a painfull or sore area of the foot, these can be manufactured from different types of materials such as EVA, Silicone, PU, and leather. The advantages are they are much softer and more flexible than the Functional Foot Orthoses.

 

 

Cad-Cam technology at T&S Orthotics we are working in partnership and have access to one of the leading systems available in the UK today,  Delcam’s orthotic software helps to increase productivity, profitability and patient satisfaction, both for those prescribing or manufacturing custom devices to help diabetic or rheumatoid patients, and for practitioners working to correct abnormalities caused by a biomechanical miss-alignment of the musco-skeletal system.  The compnay has coupled its 30 years of experience in the design and manufacture of complex free-form shapes for the aerospace and automotive sector with knowledge and expertise from a panel of orthopaedic, podiatric and orthotics experts to create a digital solution for foot-care specialists. 

Poron or Flat leather base Insoles, these loose inlays are available is three quater or full length, they incorporate a series of rubber pads (valgus, metatarsal dome and metatarsal bars that are stuck to the base for support or to off load pressure, in some cases these will also incorporate varus (medial) or Valgus (lateral) wedges, to help elevate pronation or supination of the foot.
