Omo Neurexa
The Omo Neurexa was developed by Prof. Dr. Stefan Hesse (head of the neurological department at the medical park, Berlin) this orthosis was specifically engineered for patients suffering from shoulder pain and dysfunction (including subluxation) due to neurological conditions. Omo Neurexa can be used in subacute rehabilitation processes, where it neither limits active movement nor increases spasticity.
Thanks to its innovative design this orthosis can be worn during therapeutic applications. In addition, specific stimulation of the muscles is achievable. The result is often the allevation of pain which increases the patients activity levels.
Omo Neurexa provides a perfect anatomical fit and is more secure than may other braces of a simular design, this
enables the patient to participate in a more active life. To prevent subluxation, the head of the humerus is stabilised and, where subluxation is already evident, re-centralised. The arm can be positioned in the orthosis in such a fashion that a typical spastic pattern, internal rotation of the shoulder, flexion of the elbow and supination of the wrist joint can be couteracted.
Thanks to the comfortable, soft and temperature regulating material PCM, Omo Neurexa can be worn all day. The materialprevents an exessive build up of heat.
Indications:
- Shoulder Pain and dysfunction (including subluxation) for example after stroke, cervical disc hernniation, peripheral nerve damage.
Features:
- The large surface coverage influences the proprioceptors which has a positive effect on the sesorimotor system
- No requirment to remove during movement training on the shoulder and arm
- PCM (phase change material) a temperture regulating material that prevents heat build up
- High user compliance due to the soft and comfortable material
- Optinal muscle simulation pad in silicone
- Machine washable
- Different colour press button to simplify application
